This calculator estimates gross pay before taxes, benefits, deductions, or unpaid time off.

HOW IT WORKS

How hourly pay becomes annual salary

Your regular annual pay is calculated by multiplying your hourly wage by the number of regular hours you work each week, then multiplying that result by the number of weeks you work per year.

Hourly wage × hours per week × weeks per year

For example, $25 per hour × 40 hours per week × 52 weeks equals $52,000 per year before taxes and deductions.

How overtime is calculated

Overtime pay is calculated separately using your overtime hours and overtime multiplier. A common multiplier is 1.5×, but actual overtime rules can vary by employer and location.

Hourly wage × overtime multiplier × overtime hours × weeks per year

EXAMPLE

$30 an hour: what does that equal?

Weekly, 40 hours$1,200
Biweekly$2,400
Monthly average$5,200
Annual, 52 weeks$62,400
